Chomper

Nowadays, anything Mason grabs immediately goes into his mouth. Nothing's safe around him. Everything gets chewed on. Leave a baby wipe close to his hand, he grabs it and eats it. The sleeves of my sweatshirts will never be dry again. But I remember reading that that's how babies explore things - for some reason apparently their mouths work better than their hands. Recently he's discovered that these big soft blocks, which he used to just bat around, are really fun to chomp on. The funny thing is, when I hold it over his head, his arms go straight out to his sides and come straight up, really slowly, to grab it. Notice the look of extreme concentration on his face.

Remember, this block is about the size of his head, so fitting it in his mouth can be a difficult task. But he's persistent:

It takes a few tries, but eventually, success:

It really doesn't take much to make Mason happy.

On a side note, the quality of my pictures will be greatly improved next week when my new Nikon SLR digital camera comes in the mail! I'll be able to capture any moment, frame by frame, with no blurry arms or legs. Someone's going to get very sick of having his picture taken.
