I Mustache You a Question

How fun is this kid?

And my god, how is it possible to love somebody so much?

Gettin' Crafty

We took a trip to Michael's the other day for some craft supplies.  This was the result:

I'm loving all our new art.  We've been having a blast.  I've even sold five melted crayon pieces (which I really need to get working on)!  Just call me an entrepreneur.

Our Fourth Fourth

Our Fourth of July was hot and BUSY.

We started off at the parade, where Mason made some sidewalk art and stood in awe of every single one of the fifty-five firetrucks that drove past.

Yes, I jumped out into the street to get his picture with Haylie, who was twirling her baton.

From there, we took a nap to get out of the heat, then headed to Brittany's for a cookout.  Mason was less interested in the food and more interested in attacking Grammy with his squirt gun.

He finally got her.

And me.

Then we left to cool off in the river.

And, of course, ended the day with some fireworks.

A very, very happy fourth of July, for sure.

Flutterbyes

Mase got a butterfly growing (raising? farming?) kit for his birthday.  We started with caterpillars, watched them make their cocoons, and then...

we had butterflies.  Four of them.  Francesco, Douglass, Vanessa, and Lightening McQueen.  Mase took really good care of them, feeding them sugar water and flowers for a few days.

Today we decided they'd be happier if they were out of their tiny little cage and could fly around outside with all their butterfly friends.  So Mase said goodbye and we let them fly.

Still Got It

Due to the beautiful weather we've been having, we haven't been building very many train tracks around here.  But it stormed today and I realized I haven't lost my touch.

Even Penny was happy.

I Seem to Remember Seeing This Before

Oh, riiight.  Mason used to do this.  Daily.  I used to be confused and slightly offended when I would talk about my kid and people would compare what he did to things their pets did, but now I'm starting to realize they may not have been as far off as I thought.

Having a kitten is definitely, at least a little, like having a toddler.

Smarty

Mason and I were in the car the other afternoon and he says, out of nowhere, "I bet the owl is sleeping, Mommy".

Oh yeah?  What owl?

Mase: "The nocturnal owl, Mommy.  Nocturnal means he sleeps during the day and wakes up at night."

Yeah, that's right.  Where did you hear about that?

Mase: "Ohh, it's just something I read."

Cleaned Up

We might spend the summer in swimsuits and unwashed hair, but every once in awhile, we do clean up pretty nicely.

I Think That's a Lot

I have a little blogging to catch up on, but I'm beat so I'll save that for tomorrow.  Right now, while I'm thinking about it, I just wanted to write this down so I don't forget.

Mason: "I love you this much and this much (insert arm gestures here), super-duper-ooper-shmooper, the best and the most, one hundred".
