Pumpkin

I love the pumpkin patch.  Everything about that place makes me happy and puts me in the mood for fall and the holidays.  We've been going every year since Mason was born and I swear I'll him there as a sixteen-year-old if I have to drag him.

Vote Cast

And won. :)  Whew.

Pit Stop

On our way home from the Obama rally, Mason wanted to stretch his legs somewhere in West Virginia, and we stumbled upon this great state park.  It was an awesome chance to enjoy a beautiful and get a little more practice in with my new camera.

He Must Like the No Makeup Sweatpants Look

This afternoon, Mason was staring at me across the table while we were eating lunch.

Me: whatcha lookin' at babe?

Mase: you.

Me: how come?

Mase: because you're so pretty.

Rally

On Saturday, on somewhat of a whim, I decided to take Mason to the rally for President Obama in Virginia.  Not only were Presidents Obama and Clinton both speaking, but Dave Matthews was performing a solo acoustic set.  And it was all free.  How could you turn down that?

So Friday night, I stayed up making t-shirts, and on Saturday afternoon, Mason and I hit the road.

When we got there, we had to wait in line forever, and it was cold.

But as soon as Dave came on, we warmed up in a hurry.

Then, President Clinton came out.

His speech was phenomenal.  Mason fell asleep, unfortunately, before he came out.  I was really wishing he would have been able to hear it.

Sleepy also dozed through President Obama, although I have no idea how, given how loud the crowd was.

The whole thing was such a great experience and I couldn't be happier about the way I spent my Saturday.  Inspiring and eye-opening, to say the least.  I'm proud of whom I'm giving my vote and grateful that our country is lucky enough to have a president who shares my values and wants to bring equality to us all.  We all know that not every country is lucky enough to have these rights.  No matter our religious or political beliefs, we should all want someone as our president who wants to move this country forwards, so that every one of us has the same opportunities as the next.

Who knows, maybe that will be Mason up there someday.
