I clean. A lot. When I take pictures of Mason, usually at least the area behind him is cleaned up so I can keep my memories of my imaginary spotless house in tact. But Mason's a toddler tornado of destruction and we don't have a lot of space in this little house. So things tend to get a little... messy.
Last week I made homemade chicken nuggets and when I started cooking, the kitchen was completely clean. Dishes done and not a toy in sight. The chicken was great - delicious and healthy - but I began to see why fast food is such a booming business when realized the following was the scene in my kitchen after spending just 20 minutes breading and frying chicken:
Yes, I helped make a hand print painting AND sat in a tent in the midst of cooking. This was not a fluke. Something similar happens EVERY time I cook. So... three times a day.
It all took place in twenty minutes. Clean up took an hour.

Weather Woes
Last week, PA temperatures soared to a scorching 67 degrees. I resisted the urge to break out the shorts, but Mase and I cruised around with the windows down and enjoyed the weather.
Just twelve hours after Mase, Dave, and I were running around the yard (ON ACTUAL GRASS!) like a bunch of cooped up animals finally let out of their dreary winter cages, this happened:
I am SO sick of shoveling snow off my car. C'mon, Spring.

Happy Camper
When you have three snowed-in days in a row, what else is there to do, really, but camp out all day in a tent in the middle of the kitchen?
It was a little cramped in there, with the both of us
but Mase would probably live in the back yard in that tent if I'd let him. I'm pretty sure he at least two meals a day in there.

We Both Love the Doctor
I just got off the phone with Mason's pediatrician's office. He has a checkup tomorrow to make sure his ears are better (and is super excited to see "Doctor" again). I called them because I wanted to change his 2:45 appointment to earlier in the day... so I could be home to watch the return of The Dr. Phil Family at 3.
