Just Around the Corner

It was beautiful out today. Well, beautiful for Pennsylvania in March, anyway: fifty degrees with a blue sky and shining sun. It's one of those days that - after a forever-long, freezing winter - makes you believe that the wind and cold and slush really will come to an end and that summer could show up at any random moment in the time it takes to kick the snow off your shoes.

So we took a walk this afternoon, our main goal being to feed the fish at the little pond across the street. I packed up the camera and a few slices of bread and we were off.

I knew that the coy fish in the pond hibernate in the winter, but I figured they'd be up by now. They were awake and swimming around in there, a little, but they were way down at the bottom and couldn't be bothered to swim up for the bread we threw.

Mason had fun eyeballing them anyway, though; and then ate the bread that those silly fish didn't want.

After our fish excursion, we took the long way home. Mase felt like walking.

It was so nice to be able to enjoy some sunshine. It made me really, really anxious for spring to get here. I'm sure it was just a teaser and that we'll get another giant snow storm tomorrow, but we had a great time. And hey, Mason only ate one stick.
